Athletics Home

The Fayetteville Academy has had a long and rich tradition in interscholastic athletics.  The Academy strives to have the optimum mix of the three A’s:  academics, arts, and athletics.  It is our goal for important lessons to be learned in the classroom, on stage, and on the athletic fields.  Both success and participation are very important to our athletic department.  Over eighty percent of our students in grades 7 – 12 participate in at least one sport.  We have enjoyed nineteen state championships in six different sports over the past ten years.  Along with success, we expect high standards of sportsmanship from our coaches, players, and fans.

The Fayetteville Academy’s athletic facilities are among the best in the state.  They include two full sized gymnasiums, lush softball, baseball, and soccer fields, and four tennis courts.  Because of our outstanding facilities, we regularly host conference and state championship tournaments.

We have enjoyed a longstanding membership in the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association.  As the Academy’s Athletic Director, I have served as a member of its Board of Managers for many years.  The Academy is also a member of the six-school Cape Fear Independent Conference.  Click here to open the CFIC Handbook of Policies and Procedures. This gives our athletes many opportunities to vie for conference and state titles.

We welcome you to our school and look forward to your participation in our athletic program.

Sincerely,

Chip Bishop
Athletic Director
