college counseling to host college admission representative panel
October 19, 2011
The First Annual Fayetteville Academy College Admission Panel will take place on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 from 7:00pm until 9:00pm. Upper School students and parents are invited to attend together and will have the opportunity to hear from all eleven panelists throughout the course of the evening.
The focus of this panel will be on sharing industry knowledge and providing general insight into how college admission offices recruit students, review applications, and make admission decisions. Many of these college representatives have worked for several different institutions over the course of their careers and have over forty years of combined admission experience between them. The purpose of this panel is to lift the veil of mystery off of the college admission process and offer a peek into what really happens behind the scenes.
The panel consists of admission representatives from Eckerd College, East Carolina University, Elon University, Meredith College, William Peace University, Queens University of Charlotte, St. Andrews’s Presbyterian College, UNC-Pembroke, UNC-Wilmington, University of Connecticut, and Wake Forest University.
This program will be an excellent opportunity to have questions answered by the experts and for our school’s community to showcase The Academy’s warm hospitality and commitment to educational excellence. Questions should be directed to Miss Snead in the College Counseling Office.
