Class of 2010: Brian Kastner-The George Washington University

My college preparation at the academy, especially in History, English, and writing have well-prepared me for GW where I am majoring in International Affairs with a minor in Conflict resolution and Security Studies at the Elliott School of International Affairs. I have recently completed a U.S. Senate Internship with the Honorable Richard Burr on Capitol Hill to “give back” to NC constituents. I will be studying abroad next year at King’s College in London. The Academy allowed me the close teacher interactions , mentorship, and excellent education and writing skills to excel in this writing and speaking intensive major. GO FA!

Congratulations! to freshman Yebhit Hong for winning the NC Music Teachers’ State Piano Contest at Meredith College on April 15.

3rd Annual Fayetteville Academy Golf Cup

Saturday, May 3, 2014

Please consider joining us at our 3rd Annual Fayetteville Academy Golf Cup as a player, a sponsor, or both.  The Golf Cup will be played at Gates Four Country Club on Saturday, May 3.  There will be a great round of golf and several other fun features that day, including a chance to win a BMW or a year’s free tuition at the Academy, entry into the BMW Golf Cup Finals later in the year, and several great raffles and gifts.  Entry in the Golf Cup will also include an post-golf awards ceremony and a barbecue.

The money that is raised this year will be used once again to enhance our technology throughout Fayetteville Academy.  In the past two years we have been able to enhance our school’s wireless network and increase our internet safety.  We have also purchased iPads, laptops, document cameras, new software, and have made many other improvements due to the generosity of so many people involved in our Golf Cup.

Please visit the F.A. Golf Cup webpage at or like our Facebook page at more details.  You can also register for the Golf Cup on site the day of the event.

Change in Sports Senior Night -

Please Read

I apologize for the recent flood of emails.  Unfortunately I need to add to that onslaught by sending this one.  I am doing so to ask forgiveness on two fronts and to give updated and accurate information on another.  First, let me apologize for the recent confusion about the information regarding the upcoming "Senior Night" for our spring varsity sports teams.  I also need to apologize for a recent email glitch.  At about 1:30 p.m. yesterday we attempted to send an email with information regarding Senior Night to all of our faculty members and parents.  Unfortunately, most or all of our parents did not receive that email due to a problem with our system.  I became aware of that fact late yesterday afternoon and hope that I will have better results with this one.  Whew - how was your Wednesday?

Anyway, thanks to input from many of our constituents we have put in place a new - and hopefully final - plan for Senior Night of which we would like to make you aware.  All of the Academy's spring varsity sports teams that have seniors on their rosters - varsity girls' soccer, varsity baseball, varsity boys' tennis, and varsity girls' and boys' track and field - will now celebrate their senior student-athletes at the varsity girls' soccer game on Wednesday, April 30.  That game begins at 6:30 p.m. and we hope as many of you as possible will attend and show your Eagle Spirit!

Thank you for your understanding and for your support.
